Sherlock

Project made at Hyper Island

Briefing:

The NHS (National Health Service) in UK needed a digital solution to improve the communication between patients and doctors.

Challenge:

Use technology to engage and enable patients to self-manage their own health in ways that are more flexible trustworthy and better connected.

Insight:

Creating an app or wearable to patients self-manage their own health would improve the system, but even like this, the main problem will still be present: the lack of communication and data between patients and doctors.

Campaign:

Trying to solve this issue the NHS (UK´s National Health Service) should develop the project Sherlock to launch an open API (Application Programming Interface) that would regulate the way that apps and devices would collect data with quality standard that would guarantee the truthfulness of the anonymous data that patients, doctors and researchers would exchange by the NHS cloud between a framework. The main objective of this service is provide the possibility of people self-manage their health in a trustworthy, secure and reliable way and, also, include patients in the healthcare decision making process.

Process:

As a group of 4 people everybody worked together during the process of doing academic and professional research, interviews, brainstorming, developing business model canvas, road map, storytelling and others tools. Also, we studied the ethical issues, as the use of data in an anonymous way, the possible doctor´s role in the future and the partnership with IBM.
